GFWC GREATER OCALA  WOMAN'S CLUB

WOW, what a night! The Old Bag Dinner Auction was a great success. Not only did we raise $2500. for charity but smiles and laughs were in abundance. The auctioneer, Greg Lord kept everyone laughing and enjoying themselves to the very end of the auction. It really was a hoot! 

This auction was incorporated into our monthly dinner meeting which the Home Life Department featured guests speakers Jim and June Gargans. Jim and June are clowns from Gainesville that go to different hospitals, nursing homes and other venues to bring smiles to those that may be in need of one. They also had their canine companion pouch with them. Home Life's theme for the evening was "Laughter is the Best Medicine" and we sure got a full dose Monday night.

We had over 30 guests and 30 members attending which was a plus for the membership drive aspect of the evening. After a fantastic night like that, who wouldn't want to join our club! This was a very memorable evening not only for our guests but for our members also.

Those that attended are ready to do it again. So ladies keep an eye out for a great bargain on a bag or donation item and start saving them for next year!
